April Midweek Fly-out to Bruntingthorpe

Unbelievably the TAFS and METARS were giving CAVOK for the afternoon fly-out to Bruntingthorpe.

6 club Warriors, the Dakota , plus 3 privately owned aircraft joined us for the flight to Bruntingthorpe, 27 of us in total.

We were picked up from our aircraft and transported by mini bus across the race track where 5th Gear were filming some very fast cars, by David Walton owner and operator of Bruntingthorpe. After paying our £10 landing fee we descended on the airfield Diner, for a very good lunch.

After lunch we wandered around the collection of Cold War jets, we were very lucky to be met by some of the men who work on the collection and they were only too willing to open up the cockpit of the Victor and the Guppy and allow us to wander around. We even got to peek into the Nimrod that had arrived the previous day before being transported back to our aircraft via a couple of VC10's.

A very good afternoon out.
