October Midweek Fly-out Air Atlantique Coventry

The weather behaved for our second attempt for our flight to visit Air Atlantiques Classic Fleet at Coventry, having been cancelled previously due to the weather in September.

We had a record turn-out this time, with all our Airways Flying Club fleet, plus Steve Pikes' Eurostar fleet and a fleet of privately owned aircraft, 17 aircraft in total and 38 people.

We were made very welcome by the staff and volunteers at Air Atlantique. No landing fee and a half price entrance fee of £4. We were allowed to wander freely around the aircraft , as well as being given tours around the aircraft by their expert volunteers.

While we were there we were lucky enough to witness the Nimrod engine run up and some of us took a pleasure flight in a Dragon Rapide.

Unfortunately the DC-6 had a technical problem so we were unable to do our taxi ride.

Eventually we prised ourselves away to arrive back at Wycombe before sunset.
