RAF Cosford (May 2008)
Having not actually flown into RAF
Cosford on our previous visit a couple of years earlier, it was
decided to remedy that in 2008. Last time there was a very strong
crosswind so we decided to go to Wolverhampton International (as it
was then) and by use of various mini buses, taxi to Cosford.
Since our last visit the Cold War part of the museum had opened, which was one of the main reasons for the visit and we were not disappointed.
Incredibly, it was a flyable day, although it was quite hazy.
4 club Warriors accompanied by a Stampe, Cessna 152 and Vans RV6 all made the flight from Wycombe Air Park.
I would really recommend a visit to the museum, apart from the aircraft which are housed in the cold war museum the building itself is an incredible structure.
Ian Martin-Taylor even created a DVD of their Warrior's flight to and from RAF Cosford, very entertaining.
