Learning to Fly

Do you want to learn to fly, but don't know where to start? Do you find the whole concept of learning to fly too daunting to imagine? Have you ever wondered exactly what is like to fly an aircraft and what is involved in obtaining a Private Pilot's Licence? To answer these questions, ALLAN BURNEY took to the air with the Airways Flying Club at Wycombe Air Park to gain his PPL.

This 9 part series was originally printed in Aircraft Illustrated, and takes the reader through Allan's experiences from trial flying lesson to General Skills Handling Test and everything in between.

You'll need to register to access these articles but that only takes a minute or two and will give you access to the full series of articles, the Airways Flying Club PPL Syllabus (normally priced at £4) as well as exclusive competitions and prizes.
